Heritage buildings are always sensitive topics, especially when building additions are under consideration. The balance between building integrity and contemporary needs of the building occupant is a fine line.

Client

Parish of St Michael, Remuera

Details

Planning consent for an addition to a scheduled heritage building. This project added a lightly-framed glass-enclosed gathering space to the front of the church, and also created a public space piazza just outside the building. Suzanne acted as lead planner and co-ordinator of a multi-disciplined advisory team. There were also many stakeholders to work with.
